North Como Trails Project

By now most of you are familiar with the Bunkhouse Trails we built on the south side of Lake Como in conjunction with the Bitterroot National Forest.  Now we are turning our sights and pulaskis to the north side, on what are colloquially known as Jenny Ridge and Lick Creek. Located here are a collection of social trails that we have been working with the BNF to be officially added to the trail registry. For that to happen several new sections of trails need building and other spots require sustainability upgrades.

For this to become reality we need your help.  The current climate for grants is challenging, so for the first time we fundraising and asking for your donations (and volunteer labor).  We need to raise $45,000 this spring to accomplish the following:

  •  1.7 miles of new trail on Upper Jenny Ridge to replace an eroded fall line trail.
  • 0.5 miles re-route of Chuck's Trail to minimize impact.
  • 0.5 mile extension of the Big Ditch Trail to bypass private property.
  • 0.25 miles of new trail on Middle Jenny Ridge to contour around an unsustainable unpleasant climb.
  • Puncheon bridges on Chuck's Trail through the soggy sections.
